How to Use Water Based Screen Ink for Fabric (Simple 4-Step Process)

Designed for both beginners and pro printers, our ink requires minimal setup:

Prepare Your Screen: Use a 110–156 mesh screen (ideal for fabric printing) and secure your design.
Print Evenly: Apply the ink in smooth, consistent strokes across the fabric-avoid overloading to prevent bleeding.
Dry the Print: Air-dry for 1–2 hours, or use a heat press/oven to speed up drying (120°C for 20 minutes).
Heat Set for Durability: Press the print with a heat press (150–180°C) for 30–60 seconds, or tumble-dry on high heat for 10 minutes.

FAQ:

1: Can this water based screen ink be used on dark-colored fabrics (e.g., black, navy)?
Yes. For dark fabrics, we recommend using our transparent Water Based Screen Ink for Fabric with a white underbase (apply a layer of our white water based fabric ink first, dry it, then print your desired color on top). This ensures vibrant, opaque results that don't get lost on dark material.

2: Will the print fade or peel after washing?
No-when properly heat-set, the ink resists fading and peeling. After printing, heat-set the fabric at 150–180°C for 30–60 seconds (using a heat press or oven). The print will withstand 50+ machine washes (cold or warm water, normal cycle) without losing color or adhesion. Avoid bleaching or high-temperature tumble drying to extend longevity.

3: Does this ink work on stretchy fabrics like spandex or lycra?
Absolutely. Our Water Based Screen Ink for Fabric dries to a flexible finish that moves with stretchy fabrics (spandex, lycra, or cotton-spandex blends). It won't crack when the fabric stretches-making it ideal for activewear, leggings, or athletic apparel.
