1. Photoinitiator
The photoinitiator is one of the key components in UV ink. It generates free radicals or cations under ultraviolet irradiation, which triggers the polymerization reaction of monomers and oligomers in the ink. Different photoinitiators have different effects on the performance of UV ink. For example, some efficient photoinitiators can trigger polymerization reaction in a shorter ultraviolet irradiation time, thereby increasing the curing speed of the ink. This is crucial to improve printing efficiency, especially in high-speed printing production lines. The type and amount of photoinitiator will also affect the curing depth of the ink. If the photoinitiator is not selected properly or the amount is insufficient, it may cause the ink to not cure completely, affecting the quality and performance of the printed product, such as reduced adhesion and poor wear resistance.
2. Monomers and oligomers
Monomers and oligomers are the main components of UV inks, and their chemical structure and properties determine the basic characteristics of the ink. Different monomers and oligomers have different properties such as viscosity, hardness, flexibility and chemical resistance. For example, some oligomers have high hardness and abrasion resistance, and are suitable for prints that require high durability, such as metal packaging and outdoor signs. Other oligomers have good flexibility and are suitable for prints that need to be bent or folded, such as flexible packaging and labels.
3. Pigments
Pigments mainly play the role of providing color and hiding power in UV inks. Different pigments also have a certain effect on the performance of UV inks. First, the type and particle size of the pigment will affect the color intensity and transparency of the ink. Smaller particle size pigments usually give the ink higher color intensity and transparency, but may also increase the viscosity and cost of the ink. 4. Additives

Defoamers can eliminate bubbles in the ink and avoid defects such as pinholes and fish eyes in the printed product.
